Veneers in Turkey: questions and answers

The questions UK patients ask us most, answered plainly. Each answer links to the page with more detail.

Short answer

Most questions come down to three things: whether you're getting veneers or crowns, what's included in the price, and what happens after you're home. Ask any clinic for a written, tooth-by-tooth plan with the material, price and guarantee before you travel.

Common questions

What's the difference between veneers and crowns?

A veneer is a thin shell on the front of a tooth, after a small amount of enamel is removed. A crown covers the whole tooth, which is shaped on every side. Crowns suit damaged teeth; veneers or bonding suit healthy ones.

How much do veneers cost in Turkey?

With us: E-max laminate veneers £300, composite veneers £125, E-max full veneers (crowns) £225 and zirconia crowns £150, per tooth. Packages include the hotel and transfers; flights are extra.

How long will I be in Turkey?

Usually one trip: about 5 to 7 days for porcelain veneers, 5 nights for zirconia crowns and 2 to 3 nights for composite veneers.

Are veneers in Turkey safe?

They can be. Standards vary between clinics, so check the licence, the dentist, the written plan and the guarantee. The NHS warns against a hard sell, a lack of information and pressure to decide quickly.

What are Turkey teeth?

UK shorthand for unnatural-looking smiles after treatment abroad, often crowns on healthy teeth sold as veneers. Choosing the least invasive option and a natural shade avoids most of it.

How many veneers do I need?

Only the teeth that show when you smile and need a change. For many people that's the upper front teeth; 20 or more is rarely needed on healthy teeth.

Do veneers hurt?

Teeth are numbed for preparation. Some sensitivity for a few days afterwards is common.

How long do veneers last?

Many years with good care, says the Oral Health Foundation, though they can chip, crack or come loose. Our guarantee is 3 years on laminate veneers and 5 years on crowns.

Are veneers permanent?

The change to your teeth is: porcelain veneers need some enamel removed. The veneers themselves may need replacing one day.

Can I whiten veneers?

No. Whitening only lightens natural teeth, so whiten first if you want a lighter shade, and match the veneers to it.

Can I get veneers on the NHS?

Usually not. The NHS says veneers are not usually available on the NHS.

Will a UK dentist look after my veneers?

Yes. Any dentist can check and clean around veneers. Take a written summary of what was done, with the material and shade.

What happens if a veneer comes off at home?

Keep it safe and contact us. A veneer that isn't damaged can often be re-bonded. Our guarantee terms are published at dentprecious.com/guarantee.

Can I send photos for an opinion first?

Yes. Send a few photos of your smile on WhatsApp and a dentist will tell you honestly what you need, with no obligation.
